What is Walled-Off Necrosis?

Walled-off necrosis (WON) is a complication of pancreatitis characterized by a collection of necrotic pancreatic tissue surrounded by a wall of fibrous tissue. It typically occurs several weeks after the initial pancreatitis episode.
